On the south end of Centre Island, right in the middle of Toronto Island Park is the Lookout Pier. The pier extends over 100m into Lake Ontario and provides a few great vistas of not only the beaches on the islands but also the Toronto Skyline.
Interestingly, the pier is the dividing point for the beach on the south side of the island. The portion of the beach to the east of the pier is apparently named Island Beach, and the portion of the beach located to west is called Manitou Beach.
Around the pier, there are different opportunities to do various activities. You can relax on the beach, rent a bike, or walk to and from the many trails that lead to all parts of the Toronto Islands.
The pier is a great place to get some amazing pictures or just sit and relax for a while. There is also a small bar at which you can have a drink to relax in the sun and even a snack bar to get some food to go along with the drinks. All in all, the pier is a great location to spend a lazy summer afternoon.
