The CN Tower is THE landmark of the Toronto skyline, and almost everyone has seen this type of shot in one form or the other.

For this entry I will provide a different view, one from the top of the tower for those who have not experienced it before.
The CN Tower was built between 1973 and 1976 and before I visited the tower this past summer, I had not been up in over 10 years. My first observation upon arrival was the entry fees are not cheap ($53 CAD for adults, $43 CAD for children). However, that $53 includes a visit to the 2 main observation decks, as well as the SkyPod. The main observation levels are 342 and 346 metres above ground, and the SkyPod is another 101 metres above that.
The visit started with an elevator ride – 144 floors in less than a minute!
Coming out of the elevator, the views are spectacular – there are floor to ceiling panoramic windows and the views are reflected in the ceiling.
While the interior is pretty cool, the main attraction of the first observation level is the glass floor.
There are more amazing views on the next level, and on clear days, the views in each direction are incredible.
Moving up to the SkyPod provides a higher perspective which also allows visitors to look almost straight down on the surrounding area.
Looking down shows not only the height of the Skypod, but if you are lucky, you may catch sight of people participating in the Edgewalk around the outside of the lower observation deck.

After my visit to the SkyPod, it was time to head back down to enjoy more of the view and have a quick drink at one of the bars.
I’d love to see any shots you have from the top of the CN Tower – and I’d also appreciate hearing what you liked about about this post!
Until then – here’s a night shot looking straight up from the base.
