Hello, and welcome to my second post looking at Union Station in Toronto.  Previously, I focused on the exterior facade and Great Hall.

Stairwells at either end of the Great Hall lead to the underground concourse.  Parts of this concourse are still undergoing renovations, but others have opened and contain a variety of cafes, specialty shops and retail outlets.

 

Continuing through this section of Union Station leads to the lower western concourse which provides a few more food options and directly accesses the York Concourse.

 

In the York Concourse, you find ticket booths for intercity GO Trains along with elevator and stairwell access to the train shed which houses the GO arrival and departure platforms.

 

Above the York concourse is the Skywalk, which houses the gate for the Union Pearson Express – a direct train from Union Station to Pearson International Airport.  The Skywalk is accessed from the West Wing, which is directly adjacent to The Great Hall.

 

Below the York Concourse is the large, soon to open (finally….), Union Food Court.

Moving through the York Concourse leads to more train access as well as the Scotiabank Arena Galleria.  Here you can find the box offices, Gate 1 access to Scotiabank Arena as well as the Real Sports Apparel store.

 

The Galleria leads to yet another passageway containing further access to the train shed, but also to the Union Station subway station, which is the main hub for Toronto’s subway system.

The subway platforms at Union Station have recently undergone renovations themselves and now have a fresh new look, which includes some pretty interesting artwork between the platforms themselves.
